Being that it’s the week before Thanksgiving, I’ve been challenged to blog about Thankfulness. It’s a given as to what I’m going to write about but it’s nice to hear it all again. Even for me.
Brent. My husband. We have been through a lot in our 6 short years together. I love this man more than anyone could guess. Thank you Brent for the little things. He knows when I’m having a bad day and need just a little encouragement. I thank God for him daily.
Reagan. My princess. She is my life. She wants things done her way right now. She is me. She is the best mom to her babies. (These babies include a stuffed black cat and a beanie baby rat….Ratty) Things could have taken a much different turn with Miss Reagan and I thank God that they are just the way they are.
Jace. My moose. I love him best when he’s not spilling cereal on the kitchen floor. This baby looks just like his daddy. He clings to me. Yes, he loves Brent, but he is a mama’s boy. He is a truly a blessing from God.
These are the 3 most important people in my life. I am not only blessed but thankful for everyday God gives me with them.

Honor your father and mother....Part 2
Part 2. My dad. Where does the honor begin and end?? Where does the repect begin and end??
As you, my friends know, my dad and I have a weird relationship. I call, he lets me down, I pick myself up and go right back for more. I've decided over the past few weeks that enough is enough. I'm done making the effort. Isn't that what I've done with others? Quit making the effort? I want people to want to see us. I make the effort with those that return the respect. I am tired of making excuses to myself and my kids. My dad is an hour and a half away. An afternoon. A Dora and a Sesame Street. I'm tired of getting my hopes up that he's coming to visit or going to do something with us or for us and then getting hammered with letdown.
I'm beginning to wonder if the honor and respect were ever even there.

Honor your father and mother
Okay, so God has spoken at me again. He has been doing a lot of that speaking at me and not really to me.
Today in church God did it again. He spoke at me. Sermon: Honor your father and mother.
My relationship with my mother-in-law is strained. Not really sure why, but it is. It has been for quite some time now. I have been having a power struggle with God lately about this. He's been telling me to let go and forgive, but the human girl in me is fighting for all I'm worth. But I followed my heart and invited her to lunch. Brent actually did the inviting. He called and she came. We had a great time. I made mexican casserole and we visited for about 2 hours then she made the 45 minute drive back home. My heart is a little lighter.
I'm telling you this is not going to become a regular event around here. Not yet anyway. But it was nice to sit and actually enjoy each other's company. I didn't do it for anyone but God and myself. I don't know the feeling some girls get to have when it comes to in-laws. But I am blessed with a wonderful husband who loves me and stands by me. Like I said, my heart is lighter.
Blessings to you all.

THINGS TO DO
GET COMPUTER FIXED....*NOTE* EVERYTHING IS IN CAPS BECAUSE IF I PUSH THE CAPS LOCK BUTTON THEN I WILL LOSE WHAT I HAVE ALREADY TYPED....AND IT WILL PUBLISH. IN THE WORDS OF MY PAPA, "I'VE LIVED TOO LONG" HA
FIND A NEW JOB. I LOVE THE "OLD" ONE, BUT I NEED SOMETHING FULL TIME. I DON'T GET ALONG WITH THE GIRLS I WORK WITH WELL. THIS IS MY DOING. I CHOOSE NOT TO, I GUESS. THEY ARE YOUNGER. NOT A WHOLE LOT YOUNGER, BUT THE FEW YEARS THAT THERE IS, DEFINATLY SHOWS.
GET MYSELF ORGANIZED. I KNOW THIS COMES AS A SHOCK TO SOME OF YOU...THINKING "WHY ISN'T KRISTEN ORGANIZED? SHE'S A TYPE A PERSON, ALWAYS ON TOP OF ORGANIZATION" YEAH YEAH YEAH. I'M THINKING SELF ORGANIZATION. MAYBE SOME SOUL SEARCHING.
HAVE A FEW MINUTES TO ME AND THE HUBBY. BRENT AND I HAVE YET TO HAVE AN ACTUAL VACATION SINCE OUR HONEYMOON. MONEY HAS BEEN TIGHT FROM DAY ONE AND WHO REALLY WANTS TO SPEND MORE THAN A FEW HOURS AWAY FROM THOSE LOVELIES WE CALL OUR KIDS? THEY SURE ARE CUTE, BUT I SURE LOVE MY HUSBAND AND WOULD LOVE TO HAVE A CONVERSATION WITHOUT BEING INTERUPTED ONLY TO FIND OUT WHAT BARIE AND HER SISTERS JUST DID OR TO CHANGE A DIAPER.
CLEAN OUT MY CAR. REALLY. YEAH I CLEAN IT OUT FROM TIME TO TIME. BUT I MEAN REALLY CLEAN IT OUT. I MIGHT SOME VALUABLES IN THERE
DO SOMETHING NICE FOR MY GIRLFRIENDS. I HAVE COME ACROSS SOME GREAT GIRLS HERE IN WEATHERFORD. I'M LOVING THEM MORE AND MORE EVERYDAY. I WANT TO DO SOMETHING FOR THEM OR WITH THEM.
HAVE QUIET TIME WITH GOD. I SAY I'M GOING TO DO IT AND I NEVER DO. YOU KNOW WHAT THEY SAY ABOUT EXCUSES.
THIS IS JUST A FEW THINGS I WANTED TO GET OFF MY CHEST. I HOPE EVERYONE HAS A GOOD EVENING. LOVE......KRISTEN

Happy Birthday Jace!!
Happy 1st Birthday to Jace. We had Jace's party on Saturday. It started out as a horrible day. It was raining like crazy. People kept cancelling on me. The man at the balloon shop was rude. And the baby cake got dropped. BOOO!!
We started the party at noon (really more like 12:30 or so). We had hot dogs, presents, and cake. Thank you to And Amanda for letting us party at your house.
It turned out to be a great time with great family and friends.

no news is good news....right?

okay so it's been awhile....things are smooth sailing around here. we are in the process of getting paperwork together so we can buy a house. now the mention of a new car has come up as well. not sure what to do. we are second guessing ourselves on the house thing, but the car thing has to be done. oh yeah, and happy 5 year anniversary to my husband. it's amazing at what kind of life you can live in 5 years together.
the kiddos are growing fast. reagan just turned 4 about a week and a half ago. she started school about 2 weeks ago. so far she is loving it. i had my first "mom moment" today. i forgot her at school. her teacher called me about 25 minutes after school was out and wanted to know if i was running late. oh my gosh. what a feeling. i wasn't sure whether to laugh or cry. i cried.
jace is almost 1. he has no interst in walking. why walk when you can crawl really fast or someone carries you all the time. he is saying a few words though. he likes to say bye-bye a lot. he if you tell him that you love him then he will tell you bye bye. i guess he's picking up brent's morning routine. very cute.
jace had eye surgery last tuesday. we did the same thing with reagan 2 different times and things went well with both kids. hopefully the problem is corrected and there won't be any more. i don't like the feeling of letting my babies go behind those closed doors without me.
brent is working like crazy. not only is he working his full time day job, but he has signed on for a few side jobs of his own. he is doing great at what he does. he passed his journeyman test finally and so he's "official" YAY!!
i'm doing good. working at the salon 5 days a week sure keeps a girl busy. i'm loving it and staying very busy. a full book is nice.
hope all is going well with everyone. have a safe and happy labor day weekend.
