when your hut's on fire

The only survivor of a shipwreck was washed up on a small, uninhabited island. He prayed feverishly for God to rescue him. Every day he scanned the horizon for help, but none seemed forthcoming.Exhausted, he eventually managed to build a little hut out of driftwood to protect himself from the elements, and to store his few possessions. One day, after scavenging for food, he arrived home to find his little hut in flames, with smoke rolling up to the sky. He felt the worst had happened, and everything was lost.He was stunned with disbelief, grief, and anger. He cried out, "God! How could you do this to me?" Early the next day, he was awakened by the sound of a ship approaching the island! It had come to rescue him! "How did you know I was here?" asked the weary man of his rescuers. "We saw your smoke signal," they replied.

Moral of the Story:It's easy to get discouraged when things are going bad or things have caused undue stress, but we shouldn't lose heart, because God is at work in our lives, even in the midst of our pain, suffering, or stress. Remember that the next time your little hut seems to be burning to the ground, it just may be a smoke signal that summons the Grace of God.

Brother Brent

Brent and I joined Emmanuel Baptist Church 2 weeks ago. I was raised in a Baptist church so I baptised by immersion when I was 12. Brent was raised in a Methodist Church so he had never been baptised by immersion. These are pictures of last Sunday evening.
When Brent and I decided to join the church we talked about him being baptised by immersion. He struggled with the decision because he didn't want people to think that he had never been saved. He has. He was raised in Wesley United Methodist Church in El Reno by 2 Godly parents that showed him God's path to follow. He decided on his own to go ahead with the baptisim by immersion.
Brother David joked after that he was afraid that Brent was going to float and that he might have to push him under. But he told Brent, "don't be scared." Ha...When he told this story Sunday night in church I thought he meant because Brent was so much bigger than he was, but actually he said that because the robes that they wore are heavy material and they tend to make people float.
Brent did great and didn't float......I love you Brent!!

So begins our weekend

Our Friday began with some fishing at the "Old Fishing Hole" where we didn't catch a dadgum thing. Darn it. The evening ended with a "campout" in our livingroom with the 2 cowboys. There was food, lots of books, some resting of the eyes, and then a Dora Cowgirl movie. The weekend was great. Hope yours was too.

Jesus has gone green

Reagan has been attending Vacation Bible School this week at Emmanuel Baptist Church. She is loving it. Anything that involves "friends" this girl is completely into.
Everything seemed to going great at VBS. She is having a great time and learning so much. On Wednesday she came home and we were talking about her day. She told me that they played outside and painted and even got to use glitter!! (something we don't do at home) Then she piped up and said, "hey mom, did you know that Jesus had dinner with all of his recyclables?" Oh my gosh. What a mind they have.

Enjoy your week

Happy weekend Honey!!

Reagan is a finger painting fool. She is in love. So far today she has painted Mimi and Dizzi both a picture. Just beautiful!!
Today is Friday and our weekend is already full. Tomorrow we are headed to OKC to help my mom with a few "honey do's" around her house. So far, she has her honeys mowing her yard and fixing some vents on the eves of her house. This honey has her spending quality time with the small honeys.
Sunday morning we are planning on joining Emmanuel Baptist Church then it's off to Mustang. Plans changed again and things are working out so we will be making it to see Poppy. As for Sunday morning, please keep us in your thoughts and prayers as we make this decision for our family. We have been going to this church for about 3 weeks now. We love everything about it. The people are wonderful. We have had 2 visits from them already. The music, which is my favorite, is great too. Reagan is planning on attending VBS next week. Please pray for her as well.
Hope you all have a blessed weekend.

spongebob and water bottles

So here I am again. Behind. Seems I'm always a little behind. Doesn't matter what it is that I'm behind on, just always behind.
I'm starting a new me. Maybe, just maybe, I'll start with everything. Including my blog. I started my morning with a brisk 1.5 mile walk. My alarm went off at 6:15 this morning. This is usually my morning time with Jace, but I've come to an agreement with Brent. I get up at night, he gets up in the morning. I started down Tom Stafford, on to the fire station, and then back up Franklin to my house. Got in my car to clock my walking. The odometer read 1.5!!YEA!!! Then finished my stretching and inside for the morning feedings. Got everyone breakfast then into the livingroom for some time with Billy Blanks Tae Bo. Not my idea of fun, but it is my idea of a new me.
Called my dad this morning to let him know we wouldn't be making it this weekend. He informed me that we have a new member of the family. John is his name. I've never met the guy, but we are welcoming him as our new brother. He is a friend of Clayton's that is staying with my family for a while. My friend, you have no idea what you've gotten into. Watch out for Gary. Good luck to you. Welcome John!!
Reagan is loving summer. We have been swimming or have played in the slip and slide at least 3 times this week already. She is getting a beautiful golden glow. Just like me when I was a kid. I smother her in sunscreen and somehow she still ends up with an envious tan. She has a new facination for Spongebob. I can't stand the guy. I don't think farting and name calling is appropriate for a 3 year old.She counts everything. She plays "school" often. Her dad and I always have to be the kids. Dad has time-out more than he wishes and I'm told to work on my coloring. She has 3 immaginary sisters, Alicia, Bar, and Cathy-fornia. They have done some traveling this summer. She told me yesterday that they were out of town at the beach. I'm jealous.
Jace is 5 days shy of being 9 months old. He is growing fast. He crawls everywhere. He has discovered the wire rack in the kitchen with all the canned goods on it. I discovered soup under the bed. He knows 2 words. Da and uh-0h. Everything he does involves Reagan. She brought him to me day before last. Poor little thing couldn't breath. Jace also has a friend. His has a quacking duck. If you push a button on the ducks belly he quacks. Jace thinks that duck is ha-ware-ious. (word of Reagan's)

I'll wrap this up now. Hope everyone has a great new few weeks. (You and I both know that it'll be that long until you hear from me again.)
